The year began very coldly here in Michigan. In fact, it was officially the worst ever in Michigan for cold and snow. In addition to all the pot holes everywhere, we had our pipes freeze that the end of January, which caused some pretty extensive, but now repaired, damage to our kitchen. We hope this winter will be much warmer and dryer.
We were able to go to Chicago for spring break and had a
really fun time there. We went to all
the museums, aquarium, planetarium, and ate some yummy food including Chicago style pizza and breakfast at Ann
Sathers. Aiden and Rich got to dissect a cow eye at the Museum of Science and Industry. We were also able to visit
Lynnae’s friend, Lisa, from middle school and high school. It was so fun to catch up!
For the summer, we enjoyed a lot of time at the pool. The older two took swim lessons and got pretty good at it.
Rich and Lynnae when to a few Tigers Baseball games
We also went to Greenfield Village where we got to ride in real Model T cars and learn about a lot of history of the car, the electricity, and flight. And we went to the Detroit Zoo.
We also enjoyed visits from our parents. We really miss them!
Rich and Lynnae were able to go to San Francisco for Rich's ASTRO Conference in September. Grandma Hymas flew out to watch the kids. We went to Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Warf, and pretty much all the sites. We even went out on a boat on the Bay and went under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz.
In October, we celebrated Halloween with the usual fan fare, and for Thanskgiving we had Rich's cousin, Logan, and his co-worker Kurt over.
It's been a great year so far!
