Poo!
The other morning Mackenzie was pointing to her potty, her diaper, and saying "poo." While we haven't actually started potty training, we let her sit on her potty pretty often, trying to help her get the idea. So, I took her diaper half way off with the intention of letting her try to go potty and realized that she had already gone poo-poo in her diaper. I covered her back up and laid her down on the floor while I got a clean diaper. While I was grabbing it, she scrambled away, and her diaper did not stay put. Needless to say, I had quite a mess to clean up. Yuck!

Front load washer
We've had a problem with our washing machine for the last week. It started making a really funny noise last week, and then last night it started spewing water. I was stressed to say the least. We bought a front load washer because it was suppose to be better, and we paid a fortune for it. I thought what a rip off if it only lasts two years.
Anyway, the repairmen were actually able to come today, and it turned out to have been a piece of clothing that had been sucked out of the basket and into the workings of the washer. It managed to wrap itself around a hose, pull it out, and cause the leak as well as the horrible noise.
The repairmen suggested I use a mesh bag to wash socks and other small and delicate pieces of clothing in. Bottom line, a $4 investment (and care to use it) would have saved us $140 in repairs.
Just something to keep in mind if you have a front load washing machine. :)

Idaho
We enjoyed a nice weekend in Idaho with Rich's family. Rich skipped class on Friday, so we were able to leave Thursday afternoon. Aiden was running around the house in a state of excitement saying "my dream came true." He really likes Idaho.
Rich spent the weekend duck hunting with his dad and his sister. Not really my thing, but he had a fun time. The rest of the time was just low key and spending time with family. It's nice to get away.
It was really foggy there, and I got some great pictures of the fog. I'll download them to this entry and to my photo blog (lynnaehymasphotography.blogspot.com) when I get a chance.

Go Utes!
So even though the refs for the Sugar Bowl were, at best, a little prejudiced, the Utes pulled off an awesome and decisive victory against Alabama.
I know I'm a Coug, but the more exposure I get to the U, the less rivalry I feel. I think BYU and the UofU are both great schools. And both represent great things about Utah.
We have a friend who is a Coug who is one of Rich's classmates. He is a true blue died in the wool BYU fan. During the rivalry game this year, he put on his blue and sat in the student section at the U. I thought he was crazy. I'm very sad to say that, at the game, he had a knife pulled on him by a fellow student. All I can say is, come on guys, why can't we just get along?
So, in the end, there is only one football game during the year that I have to choose, and of course I have to go with my alma mater. But I really am proud of what both teams accomplished this year and I think the U deserves the national championship even if they didn't get to play in the national championship game.

Happy New Year
New Year's this year was kind of a bust for us. We did watch Wall-e with the kids, and then sent them to bed. Then, Rich and I played the Wii that we got for Christmas until midnight. I'm sad to say how pathetic I am at the game. Even if I manage to have the upper hand on a game, it lasts for about 2 games and then Rich comes back and annihilates me. Sigh. I guess guys do have better hand/eye coordination.
