Blender

So, I'm feeling like I've turned into Suzy homemaker. A week ago, Rich and I were at Costco, and he actually stopped to watch the blender "Blendtec" demo they have there sometimes, which meant that I had to. We were both impressed with everything but the price tag. Yikes!

But, we mulled it over for a few days, and ended up getting it for my birthday, pretty much. I was worried that we'd spend a fortune on it, but not really use it much. I must say I was wrong.

First of all, it actually grinds wheat (2 cups in 50 sec), so, I've pulled some wheat out of our food storage, and have been making homemade whole wheat bread, almost everyday. Secondly, we have been eating smoothies almost constantly. They are so easy to make with this thing. Just throw in a bunch of fruit in big chuncks, include the ice, and then push the smoothly button. Voila. I've made soup with it, orange julius... You can make ice cream (although I still need some practice at that one). We even use it to mix up some strawberry lemonade (use some crystal light and thow in a few whole fresh strawberries and water and you've got yourself some).

The other very cool feature is that it's easy to wash. You don't have to take it apart. Throw some warm soapy water in it, run it a few seconds, and it's clean. First blender that I haven't not used because it was a pain to clean.

Anyway, the bottom line is that it's cool AND easy. If you like to cook, add it to your wish list.

Trouble Brewing

At church today, Mackenzie saw one of Aiden's friends, and said "Toby, I love you." (Toby has a little brother who is Mackenzie's age and who she doesn't really pay much attention to). After church I told Aiden that his little sister was already developing crushes on his friends, to which he replied "Mackenzie, don't crush my friends." Prophetic? I fear so.
